Contract
The contract has to be signed and a half months rent have to be paid for before you get the key. Please bring your student card or confirmation of admission to a study when you pick up the key.

Moving in- and out.
If the «rent-contract starts from and to..» should happen to fall on a Saturday, Sunday or a holiday, the moving in take place on the first workday, unless special agreements have been made.The tenant cannot move into their rooms in the period from 24th of December until 1st of January, and not during the week before Easter day.

Moving out should take place before noon (12.00 o’clock) the same day the rent contract comes to an end.  Contact the house economist for checking out.

Rents
You find a list off al the rents in our web site. Regulations of house rent are done by SIV on July 1th  every year.

Renewed contract
SIV offers first contracts for the duration of one year, which means from July 1th to June 30th. In good time before the rent contract runs out, provided you have not already given notice, you will receive a message with a request about extending of contract. As a renter you have, provided you have complied with the criteria for renting and you are student at Høgskolen in Vestfold, a first priority to continue renting the same unit. Bring your student card to identify you as an active student.

End of rent-contract
A two month’s notice is required. To avoid misunderstandings every one must give notice, even those who end their contracts according to previous agreement.

Data
Mølla, Klokkergården, Campus, Åsgårdstrand, Ollebakken and Fagerlund are connected to Vestfold University College’s network. All students in those accommodations can use the connection as a free additional service. To connect to the network you need a regular network cable (we don’t have a wireless network) connecting the PC to the router. You will find the router in your room. There is no need for user names or passwords to connect.

Rooms at HWA7 and Kaldnes also offer free internet connection as a free additional service. Tenants at HWA7 and Kaldnes do not need a router or password to connect only a regularly network cable.

It is not allowed to run DHCP services on network devices connected to our network. Violation of this agreement can result in a disconnection of your room from the network.

Furnishing rooms
Rooms and one-rooms flats are fully furnished.

The family apartments in Åsgårdstrand are furnished with closets, cooker and refrigerator, kitchen table and chairs. Couples apartments in Klokkergården are furnished in the same way, but they also have dishwasher and curtains. The family apartments in Klokkergården and couples apartments at Campus have closet and electrical appliances as cooker, refrigerator and dishwasher. The apartments in Tollbodgata are furnished with cooker and refrigerator, closet and curtains.


Electricity
For rooms and for couple apartments in Klokkergården and on Campus the house rent includes electricity.
Electricity is not included in Mølla or in the family apartments in Åsgårdstrand, Klokkergården and Tollbodgata.

Smoking
All rooms in SIV are non-smoking. If you are observed smoking inside and thereby caught breaking our non-smoking-rule, you will be charged with a fee of 500.00 NOK on your next rent invoice.
